CDS Exam 2014 Online Application and Notification Issued by UPSC:
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued a first Combined
Defence Services Exam notification for the year 2014. Every year UPSC
conducts the CDS exam two times. For the upcoming year the notification
for the CDS-I exam has been released by UPSC few days back. Candidates
who are seeking to join Indian Armed Force Services as an officer may
utilise this opportunity. Candidates who are applied for this exam have
to undergo the selection process in various stages.

Education Qualification:
Candidates possessing Under Graduate Degree in any discipline are
eligible for IMA and OTA. For Naval Academy candidates must be an
Engineering Graduate in relevant discipline. Aspirants who are qualified
an Under Graduate degree programme with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2
levels is eligible.
Age Limit:
Candidates who are born between the below mentioned dates are eligible
to apply for the vacancies available in various Academies.
- For IMA & INA - Born between 2nd Jan 1991 to 1st Jan 1996
- For AFA - Born between 2nd Jan 1992 to 1st Jan 1996
- For OTA - Born between 2nd Jan 1990 to 1st Jan 1996
Selection Process:
Initially all the applicants will be invited to participate in the
written test. Candidates who are passed in this test will further
undergo physical efficiency test, mental ability test, personal
interview and medical test.
Application Fee:
Female and SC/ST category applicants are exempted from paying exam fees,
all others have to pay an exam fee of Rs.200/- only. This fee can be
paid by means of Cash Deposit in any of the SBI branches or using the
Net Banking facility of SBI or using the (debit or credit) cards of SBI
only.
